How To Restore Antique Brass Bed?
We just recieved a brass bed, it was my husbands great, great, grandparents. It is very rusted, and looks to have been painted. How would I go about restoring it? Can it be sandblasted?
If you sandblast it you will lose the detail on the edges and such. You will not hurt the brass by using paint remover first for the paint and then finishing up with several grades of steel wool. You can go a step farther with brass polish and a clear finish. Yup, it will be work but there is very little cost to it. I buff brass in the video below.
